In a sectoral briefing at the House of Representatives plenary in Abuja on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), emphasized the commitment to bolstering confidence in the nation's economy. Alongside key figures such as the Minister of Finance and the Majority Leader of the House, Cardoso highlighted CBN's dedication to maintaining stability in consumer prices and the foreign exchange market.
Cardoso stated, "We are resolute in implementing policies that foster a stable macroeconomic environment, ensuring improved livelihoods for all Nigerians."
The CBN Governor urged a shift in attitude among Nigerians to alleviate foreign exchange pressure on the Naira. Emphasizing a pivotal moment, Cardoso expressed, "Bold reforms underway across different segments of the economy are aimed at addressing challenges sustainably."
